As the pace of summer begins to slow and the back-to-school buzz starts building, August offers a natural pause, a moment to reset before fall gets hectic. We asked our Wellness Advisors how they’re closing out the season and preparing for what’s ahead. Here are five simple but powerful things you can do now to ease the transition and set yourself up for a grounded, intentional start to fall:

1. Ease Into Routine With Intention

August brings a quieter rhythm that invites reflection and structure, without the pressure of a full reset. Rather than overhauling your habits, take a gradual approach:

  • Re-establish consistent wake and sleep times.
  • Prep a few easy meals to carry you through the week. Check out our busy person meal plan
  • Carve out time for movement that feels energizing, not exhausting. We love Evlo for a program that actually builds muscle through gentle consistency over time and it’s not just for women!

This gentle shift in rhythm feels like closing the chapter on summer and stepping into a new season with intention and clarity.

2. Prioritize Your Preventive Care

Before your calendar fills up, take stock of your health. August is an ideal time to:

  • Book your annual physical.
  • Schedule lab work or follow-ups.
  • Make that long-postponed dental appointment.
  • Get ahead of your flu shot or other seasonal care.

This is also a great moment to revisit your long-term wellness goals - whether it’s hormone balance, metabolic health, or simply feeling your best heading into the holiday season. If you’re a Lanby Member, your Care Team can help you with this.

3. Reclaim Your Mornings

Summer mornings often stretch out lazily, but as routines return, re-establishing a consistent morning ritual can help ease the transition:

  • Wake up just five minutes earlier to check in with yourself before the day begins.
  • Start your day with a glass of water, a few stretches, or some deep breaths in sunlight.
  • Focus on micro-moments rather than perfection - a few intentional minutes can dramatically shape your stress levels and mood for the rest of the day.

4. Consider a Digital Reset

Travel, social plans, and looser summer schedules often bring more screen time and digital clutter. Now’s the time to clean it up:

  • Unsubscribe from newsletters you don’t read.
  • Turn off nonessential notifications.
  • Set app limits for the biggest time drains (social media, email, games).
  • Delete unused apps.
  • Set tech-free time in the evenings, especially before bed.

And if you’ve been meaning to start meditating, now’s the moment: try an app like Insight Timer, Calm, or Headspace - even two minutes of breathwork can calm your nervous system. Bonus: Refresh your reading list with inspiring fiction or nonfiction to help you unwind without a screen.

5. Reset Your Space

Your environment plays a big role in how you feel day-to-day. Use the slower pace of August to declutter and refresh:

  • Clear out your kitchen - ditch old and expired spices, reorganize drawers, and upgrade worn-out pans or utensils. Learn how to clean your pantry and fridge here
  • Audit your cleaning supplies and personal care products and begin switching to cleaner, low-tox alternatives. Check out our Amazon storefront for all of our essentials
  • Do a quick inbox cleanse and tidy up your digital files for a clearer headspace.

Less clutter, physically and digitally, creates more room for calm, clarity, and creativity.

Final Thoughts

You don’t need to wait until September to “start fresh.” Use these next few weeks to gradually align your routines, reset your space, and check in with your health. Small, intentional shifts now can create a smoother, more grounded entry into fall so you can hit the ground running, without burning out.
